The movie is a nice attempt to dive deep into the slum life and captures their daily life and especially the reasons for them for resorting the path, they adopt. The characters, small or big, play larger than life role and contribute to the success of the movie.
Bachhanji is always at his charismatic best, I just love the way he sort of moulds himself into the original character by speaking less, when he doesn't feel like, such as his own farewell speech versus speaking at length, when he deems appropriate- in the courtroom.
Sometimes, the movie feels disconnected, and the two parts seem to have been joined together. In the first part, when the team has accomplished a victory against the local college, it seems to be the end of the movie and the plot drags a bit to join the second piece, where Vijay goes on to make a national team from the slum dwellers.
Notwithstanding the above drawback, the movie stands tall to project the characters and the topic in the appropriate limelight. The helpfulness of many individuals along the way, in the entire India coming forward to support, for example in preparing passport of these prospective players. Those moments are very nicely captured.
