Could have been so much better....This has to be one of the more frustrating shows I’ve watched recently, With a good premise, plenty of nice character development, and decent plot setup. Then it keeps trying to ratchet up the tense moments by having the characters make ridiculous decisions (and totally plot-holing any interesting side characters or common sense to further the “suspense”) I have never seen an entire cast so flippant about magic and danger, even after their father is murdered in front of their eyes. They make incredulous decisions based on the worst survival instincts I have seen in a while. With detective work that rivals the Venture Bros (or Pink Panther), I was wondering and waiting for them to either kill themselves off or have the “well lady” do it somehow. After the 5th or 6th episode, I was actually hoping it would happen, lol. So sad, the family history, lore and premise of the Key house could have been executed so much better, I really, really wanted this to succeed after the first few episodes. Instead, I’m left wondering if the graphic novel does the concept justice? Better off reading that.
