The joke prior was a 911 joke. Gilbert was a comic genius who knew based upon the crowd's response he had probably made a mistake. But the way I see it could have bothered him and if it did he may have felt he didn't deliver the audience something they were expecting to laugh about. So he decided to win the folks back with possibly one of the dirtiest jokes and the smartest one word punchlines in Comedy. In my opinion he apologized in a weird way about the Empire State Building joke by coming back with a huge gift with the Aristocrat joke. The joke also told the audience that he wasn't purposely inappropriate because wait until you see what's coming next. They say he was a sweet, caring guy. I don't doubt it for a moment.

We watched it last night. I'm wondering why it was ever made? The show was not picked up for another Season for a reason. That reason I don't know because I looked forward to every episode. The movie, not great. The first thing I noticed other then Jon Voight who looked like he was having a little difficulty with his gait, most of the male characters looked like they gained weight. Liev Schreiber looked awful. And of course like usual he had one look on his face for 64 minutes. They didn't look so good. The daughter was awful in the series and worse in the movie and where was the son. If they had a useless cameo of Bunchie's ex wife then where the other past characters? When it was over I said to my wife "what was the point"? Jon Voight was hardly in it and probably didn't want to do it and asked them to kill him off. He was the best thing in the series along with Schreiber. Why did they keep Schreiber alive and kill off Voight? Doesn't make sense. Anyway like I said not great. BTW it didn't take very long for Ray to get from NYC to Boston. I used to do that drive a lot and it was tedious and long.

You know how you channel surf, go on the Netflix guide and go from one show or movie to another until something catches your eye? Well I had passed this show multiple times with my wife. We just got finished watching Squid Game and there was nothing much else we wanted to watch. So I went back to Call the Midwife. We have always liked Shows from the UK. The acting is generally very good. I never thought I would like this production but I said what the hell. Call the Midwife is terrific. The acting is superb but I'm not surprised. The sets are wonderful and the story lines are very good. I was an RN years ago and actually worked in a labor and delivery room moonlighting when I was in school so this interested me. It's one of those shows you can't stop watching. My favorite actor by far is Miranda Hart who plays Chummy. She was perfect.

Everything Elton John has done from his very first album that was not marketed to his last has been great. This is a guy who comes along once in a century or more, a true Icon. He is on par with the Beatles and and definitely the Stones and other individuals and groups that have come along in the 20th and 21st century. He is a very special artist and became a real humanitarian. Goodbye Yellow Brick Road is a phenomenal Album but I actually liked Tumbleweed Connection and Madman Across the Water better. If it weren't for Bernie Taupin Johns musical talents would have been wonderful but Taupin's lyrics made Elton John the performer he is.

I see the reviews of Life Itself were not good. When I am forced to leave our den and go in the bathroom and cry over the loss of my loved ones I know I have seen a phenomenal movie. The only movie Oscar Issac has not been good in was Star Wars where he was miscast . Olivia Wilde was almost perfect. Mandy Patinken better then Dead Like Me which was a terrific show and should never have been cancelled when it did and when it re-aired without him as a movie it wasn't the same. Didn't watch Homeland but I'm told he was great in it. Antonio Banderas was perfect for the part and the rest of the cast just about perfect as well. This is life for all it's goods and bads. I bit far fetched but it needed to be. Intertwining of lives made the film interesting if not just a little predictable. The only thing missing which was assumed was a conversation between Rodrigo and Abby and Wills daughter regarding the coincidence they should meet on what looked like the same corner when the boy saw the mother killed. I suppose some things don't need to be said. It's one of those movies when you wake up the next morning you think about. How can that not get a good review?
