One of the best biopics ever, packed with some incredible performances by the cast, especially Jake Gyllenhaal, Chris Cooper. The movie delivers all the beats that a family movie needs to. Based on the incredible true story of Homer Hickam Jr. and his fellow Rocket Boys, the film has well - developed and well - acted characters. One of the most memorable scenes for me in this movie were that of Homer and Miss Riley's. Both of them had such a great chemistry, the student - teacher relationship they had is so heart - warming and incredible that I only wished that I had something like that. Despite being one of the best actors of his time, Jake Gyllenhaal so far is very underrated and seems to be unappreciated by the Hollywood's elite, and this movie offered those moments that showed just how great he is. Homer's father played in this movie by Cooper is a very interesting character that is somehow fully sucked into the coal mines of the town mentally and emotionally and feels like he is trapped in their forever. All his anger, frustration, his unrelenting pride are beautifully portrayed by Cooper that leaves you gut wrenching and his subsequent evolution makes so touching. The film is very inspiring, a great character oriented film, with a beautiful music by Mark Isham that neatly captures their unique traits. One of the best biopics ever, that doesn't try too hard and offers a touching, inspiring story into some of the unsung heroes that changed the world in their own right My rating : 9/10

I first came across this movie, when I was scrolling through the greatest movies of all time list. Nearly every list has this damn movie, and honestly I was shocked that THIS movie was a critical and box office disaster even when it featured the powehouse duo of Kubrick and Nicholson. Based on Stephen King's acclaimed novel of the same name, The Shining is perhaps the pinnacle movie of the horror genre. What makes it so frightening and endearing, is the fact that it never played into the traditional horror movie tropes, and it is a testament of how Kubrick was a filmmaker way ahead of his time. Despite the generations of movie audiences and critics coming to appreciate the greatness of the movie, Stephen King himself seems completely unchangeable from it, and it has often baffled me. From the performances of it's lead actors despite them getting all the hate at that time, to the direction, the visuals, the production design, the absolutely horrifying soundtrack everything is at it's A - Game and it set a new benchmark for the genre. Despite me not reading the book yet, my appreciation for the movie will not change, bcoz the movie is so awesome and I hope one day King gets to know it and really appreciate this masterpiece. This movie is really worth of all it's greatness, and is sure to stand the test of time in all generations and is a timeless classic. My rating 10/10 👍👍👍

For me, Dunkirk will go down as one of the best war - survival drama films of all time. The entire point of the film and it's success comes when it questions the audience as a war or as a survival film. This movie has to be one of the boldest and most experimental movies of recent times especially when it comes to it's overall story and it's characters. Christopher Nolan has perfected visual storytelling with an old school blend at it's best. The emphasis given on sound and music to raise the tension goes beyond the traditional tropes of a war film and with Hans Zimmer at his prime the movie raises the visceral experience of the story beautifully complimented by the surreal music. Along with the music, the editing, cinematography, the performances of the cast all make the movie a once in a lifetime experience. For a movie that gives less emphasis on it's characters actually has a great array of fine performances with the standouts being Harry Styles, Fionn Whitehead and commands equal respect. With Dunkirk, Nolan has raised the bars as a filmmaker with the treatment of the story, themes, his own approach to filmmaking and as a storyteller. Just like his other films Nolan skillfully continues his signature delivery of ambiguous endings. Even though we leave the movie with the soldiers reaching home, we all know the real fight only about to begin and this was only just the beginning. The movie's end titles music begins with sense of joy and jubilation and ends in a sinister note signalling the impending attack and the start of the wwarwreal war The movie has given me goosebumps, has made me emotional and if it has done that then it has achieved it's success. Overall Rating : 9/10 an absolute masterckass from Nolan and truly one of his best works

Beautiful, Poignant, An unseen experience about the life of one of the most greatest stars the world cinema has ever seen. The film's huge star cast was what drew my attention and after I saw it, it has become clear why it needed it. Michelle Williams simply strikes the ball out of the park with her effortless performance strikes the balance between Monroe's typecast personas and her desire to be considered as a serious actor which goes very well in constrat with Sir Olivier played brilliantly by Kenneth Branagh himself. But the character which really got my intrigue was Colin Clark who kind of winded up being a tragic hero and I feel that Eddie's performance never really got the recognition it deserved for this movie
