The crudity and length render this film a three stars instead of the four stars I was hoping to give. Set in the early seventies, this heartwarming tale is about a group of young High school level students who stay at their boarding school over Christmas and are looked after by a history teacher they loathe. The camerawork is standard. The acting is great. The plot is outstanding. It's intriguing, interesting. It's funny, too. I recommend a watch.

I enjoyed watching this film because of the very good acting performances, beautiful camera work & directing, and seamless storyline. It is that good that it will be a cult classic. I am amazed by this film.

I thoroughly enjoyed this film-musical ensemble as it was tastefully produced and included parts played by originals Tina Fey and Lindsay Lohan.

An incredibly poignant film, only the intense seriousness of the plot detracts from it. The film contains many beautiful and scenic images, and the dialogue between the characters is sharp. The costumery is great, as is a lot of the camera angles. It is touching but a tad morose, telling the story of a little girl who continues to reside in a home on marsh land once her father becomes unwell and all the other family members leave. As she grows up, she transforms into an intelligent and beguiling young woman of sense and sensibility who's misunderstood by the townspeople. Two men enter into her life, the first a childhood sweetheart who taught her, Kya, her vocabulary. The second is a man from a wealthy family but with his own demons from the past, a man whom Kya will find herself accused of murdering. As the court case unravels throughout the film, intermingled with scenes of Kya's childhood and young woman years, we see her development, progress, and independence from her father and others. This is a captivating film and certainly worthy to view.

The Batman was a film worth awarding five stars. I couldn't fault it. It is riveting and raw, with a magical appeal and an endearing charm. I don't like the genre usually, but I was so taken aback by the beauty of this film that I felt it deserved five stars. Robert Pattinson does some stunning acting work in this movie, although I felt all of the actors, whether they had big or small parts, were absolutely stellar. Alfred the Butler even, whose role was quite minor, was perfect. The directing conducted by Matt Reeves was sublime. You can see the attention to detail and the care that's been put into it. It really is incredible how you can actually see how his dedication to directing played off of the characters' performances, resulting in seamless scenes and gritty emotional dialogues. There were lessons to be learned in this movie, not merely by Batman/Bruce Wayne but also his friends, foes, and his supporters, even every inhabitant of Gotham City who had a part in the movie, large or small. The scenes which incorporated the architecture of Gotham City were breathtakingly beautiful. The stone, brick, concrete, it all looked so real and honest. Now that is the true mark of a great film. So many action movies have been made without taking into consideration the realness feel to it. It was a very serious and modern take. This, along with the length of the film, were the only two irksome factors which I could find in it. It is certainly not a family movie but nor is it risque in any way. It is a movie for mature adults. You do not have to be a Batman fan to see the sheer beauty of it. I'm not particularly a Batman fan. The music score and cinematography intertwine like a pair of content lovers. This is really comforting to see in a film. The visuals and effects are phenomenal. The script was to the point, snappy, and never lagged behind the rest of the movie. This was great to observe. The action scenes and drama scenes alike were all superb, and that's what truly makes this movie top of the line. I am very pleased to award The Batman five stars.

Dull and pretentious. Bordering on boring. Nothing like the series. Reliant on their reputation to fill seats and subsequently failed to deliver. It's not as though any effort wasn't put in. The acting performances are average and the lines are witty. The actresses do try, at times, in particular Sarah Jessica Parker and Kim Cattrall. The actors, unfortunately, stand around like wooden blocks. Substance abuse but no substance. I feel for them, I really do. It is a disappointing effort. Technically, everything's fine. The dialogue is suitable, based on what they said to each other in the series. The camera work and lighting are both good. Some good scenes and some good scenery. But, it all came together, and it just did not work. I would expect to give a movie like this a three or a four, not a two.

This was a genuinely funny movie and a good watch. Exciting, adventurous, but disjointed at times and I don't think all of the acting was done with as much enthusiasm as it could have been. It wasn't quite so boisterous as their TV series of the same name, not as crass. It was more along the lines of quirky and weird. The characters dialogue to each other appeared to be flawless, each line delivered on time, each punch line necessary and witty. Marvelous work here. As with the TV series, there were camera and lighting issues although the TV series was much worse than the movie in this regard. You must think seriously about what the audience are going to be seeing. It is not all just a joke, laugh and a bit of a fun time. On a positive note, they worked really hard on it. That much was obvious. That's why I gave them a three, not a two. That and the comedic aspect to it.

I was surprised that this movie had got some bad reviews, then I realised that it was those critics who equate family values and the family style of living with boredom and being mundane. For this is what it's about. Despite being set in the Stone Age, it is a family movie with real characters based on the ones from the animated television series. Brilliant casting. The character of Betty is played superbly by Rosie 'o'Donnell who doesn't miss a beat. The character of Fred Flintstone is the central one, taken on by the horns by John Goodman, who truly makes it his own role. But all four central characters were brilliant, Wilma and Barney, too. It was a tad daunting that Pearl Flaghoople, Wilma's mother, was even allowed to take part. It was slightly distasteful. The overshadowing done by the actress who portrayed her, Elizabeth Taylor, left a sour taste. The camera work was brilliant. The scenery was great, too. The dialogue missed here and there, becoming a tad patchy, but was good over all. A must see. Great movie viewing for the whole family.

It is a light and quirky movie and overreaches. That said, it is a very enjoyable watch and the performances are great. Predictable plot but still enjoyable. It is bouncy and sweet like a cheerleader who grew up but never became mean. Full of promise. There should have been a sequel. There's plenty of American schtick here and it is welcome. The camera angles, lighting, dialogue, all firmly acceptable and no issues. I feel that the different characters relate, Converse and interact with each other very well.

I've chosen to give Clueless four stars because it delivers. The plot was fine, a girl from another State moves to Beverly Hills and is taken under the wing of the most popular and intelligent female student. The camera angles and directing are better than average; the dialogue, snazzy and clever. High school students speaking to each other in intelligent tones is something we ought to see more of these days. Clueless is a classic. Its name is ironic, because nobody involved in the production was without a clue. Very well put together & the whole team should be proud!
