The biggest problem with Funny Woman is that the Woman just isn't funny! In fact, I found the scenes where she auditions of performs to be total cringe and not amusing in the least - but yet everyone finds her hilarious. Her roommate was actually more amusing. I think it was a combination of poor material and Arterton not having natural comic ability - although her performance isn't bad, just not funny. For me, she just very quickly became an irritant. However, I did enjoy the 60's period setting.

First couple is seasons we're fun teen fodder. It became absolutely abysmal after that. Developed a really weird tone.
