My wife was abused for about 10 years by dad and uncles, it's impossible to put into words the damage that happens to a young heart, until recently I didn't know that PTSD actually happens more to girls and boys than to soldiers. The movie helped me to realize the courage that my wife had and has to live a life after all that. There is no riding off into the sunset after being abused.
What's so sad is the lack of anger in our culture as the porn on the internet is blatently teaching our young boys that girls acually like getting abused.
The little statment made in the movie "its the gift that keeps on giving" please please please , if you know about ongoing abuse don't keep quiet this only thrives in the darkness, and if you expose it you will be excoriated for it. Somehow people want to keep it in the dark. Exposing it will save others.
