Did any of the actors\screen play writers\directors read the book. Not only did it completely change the plot and character development, the entire uniqueness off the series and its spirit was utterly lost in the translation onto the screen. I will not even speak of the terrible acting choices that were demonstrated. I expected better from someone who seemed to do quite well other times on screen. Perhaps it wasn't the actors choice, or it will mar my respect of said actors in future films. This of course has nothing to do with Helena Boham Carter she did beautifully as always and could never, no matter how foolish a movie, do a bad job.
I am very disappointed, and quite in disbelief of all those in support of this movie. Yet the others who disliked the movie seemed to only be sexist, closedminded watchers, who couldn't even disapprove of the movie for non-ignorant reasons. I feel quite alone in the resentment of this movie for reasonable reasons, it feels that the watchers hadn't done any research before accusing it to be a horrible adaptions of the Sherlock Holmes series, which never was the point. I urge everyone to read the books, they are brilliantly written - a beautiful, bittersweet and moving storyline with only the best character arcs and a wonderful insight into the time period. I would regret to see the name Enola Holmes be so terribly mistreated as it has been because of the horrible movie.
