Every once in awhile, along comes a movie which keeps me grounded and makes me wonder what I would do under the same circumstances. A post apocalyptic world is something that many people don't want to think too seriously about. It surely is a frightening scenario. But there are many whom have spent thousands and thousands of dollars trying to prepare for it. Who's right and who's wrong? Can anyone predict what would sustain themself and loved ones? There are whole industries dedicated to supplying food and gear to people whom believe that they could survive in the harsh environment of a cataclysmic event. I have always believed that even the best plans to survive an end-of-life catastrophe fall short. People need other people. Going it alone in a bunker stuffed with food and ammunition, to me, is just a 'bunker mentality' and will give way to the need for human contact. I'm sure there are many whom would argue otherwise and are proud of what they have assembled to deal with any kind of crisis.
I agree that we should all have some kind of plan to survive.
This movie seems to maintain a very realistic approach to what might happen to most people. It isn't filled with super heroic feats of strength and bravery. It is very well thought out and directed. Keeping it real might be boring to some, but if you're not inclined to think of yourself as a super hero, capable of slaying dragons and monsters and bad guys, then be prepared to watch a realistic depiction of what you could be in for.
