The malayalam movies in the 90s were the perfect portrayal of a middle class life and values.
Karunyam is no different especially with respect to the struggles of the youth of that time to find a job. But what struck me the most is the chemistry of Murali and Jayaram. The father-son relationship, the subtle embarrassment the son feels where he feels like a failure and the helplessness of the father. Everything stays with you after the movie due the powerful performances.
A sad yet endearing movie. Must watch in my opinion.
