Great movie in my opinion but let down in the end with it's constant hints to previous movies. Basically it starts like Alien, reminds me of Aliens at the middle stage and turns into Prometheus towards the end.

Good movie, wasn't expecting Dev Patel to be like he was in this film so that was nice to see. The film has its own story but borrows heavily from Ong Bak and The Raid (I'm just giving those 2 films a shout out because they're stone cold action classics). I'd say Dev is a fan of Gareth Evans who directed both Raid movies and also had a hand in the action scenes from the show Gangs of London. It really shows here during the fights and camera work. The overall tone is similar to parts of those previously mentioned films, just different culture/location and story. With all that said, for me, it's an enjoyable watch, has impressive fight sequences and Dev gets my respect for putting out a very good directorial debut.
