I love watching Damon Sr. and Damon Jr. working together. However, Wayans, you can do better. I've watched all 4 episodes now twice. I have seen all your individual shows and I am a huge fan of the entire Wayans family and T.V. projects. Entertainment icons in your own right.
I've been waiting to see the kids that have been constantly mentioned on Episodes 1-3. You did that with Episode 4. I been waiting to get some "spice" on the show and Wendy Raquel Robinson definitely brought it on Episode 4! She needs to be a regular. She did not disappoint! I love Essence Atkins and she is great, but the show needs the "antics and fire" Wendy Raquel Robinson is known to bring in all her roles. Plus, the show keeps talking about Poppa's ex, what he missed about being married, and family issues. It would be good to see how her character adds to that.
Also, the set change on Episode 2 was disappointing, why not keep it for a cool middle age new bachelor? Episode 3 was a complete let down. I thought Damon Jr. was going back to work for his father-in-law? Please, please do not make Damon Jr's character goofy like the Jr. from My Wife and Kids. That took on a whole new spiral downward.
What is really disappointing is some of the comedy. Poppa's part is solid and now the emergence of the mother's role (Wendy Raquel Robinson), but the rest of the scripts/storyline needs some work. I like some of the meaningful lines and all the characters are good. However, what all the Wayans family members do best is comedy. This show is missing that Wayans' flavour.
