This show is everything I never knew I wanted! Coming from a mixed-race family, I really appreciate all the cultural things that were shown, even if I can’t relate to a lot of Indian traditions. As a harpist I also love the fact that Devi plays the harp! I freaked out when I saw the harp in her house because I’ve never seen a character play the harp in a show before. I just wish that they would make that apart of her story more in season 3 since they bothered to add it in at all. Over all, this a refreshing take on the classic “coming of age story” and adds another layer with Devi having lost her father. I also really like the side stories that explore more of the lives of the people Devi interacts with. It really helps you understand the characters better, and why they do some of things they do. I watched the whole first season in one night, and did the same for season 2. Season 2 is great! It jumps right back into where the first season left off and keeps the drama going. 10/10 recommend!
