I think the people who are giving this series a 5 star review are lying shills. Either than or these are the same people who sit engrossed watchings "Keeping up with the Kardashians" or the umptheenth "real housewives" series. This show is not great, it's not even good. There are plot holes the size of black holes in the series. The characters act in such chronically stupid ways I have to wonder if this is the Chinese version of a soap opera. Only in Soaps (and sometimes anime) can you get a doppelganger/ twin die and the real character show up sometime later.
This show was unnecessarily dragged out to a very long 44 episodes when it didn't need to be, with actual episodes padded for run time purposes which made for bad pacing. The plot armor is real in this show because a lot of the characters would have died well before reaching adulthood if it weren't for the deux ex machina. You can also tell this was made in China because the show rips Shakespeare egregiously with their own Chinese approved version of "Romeo & Juliette." That being said I'll be nice and say there was character development and despite the clunky, sometimes poor story telling, characters I actually grew to like.
A lot of the Drama was unintentionally funny to me, like when the 10 villains turn on each other or when the final bad guy (girl) gets theirs. So I got some good laughs off it though I'm sure that was not what they were aiming for. The "Martial Arts" Fight Choreography was cheese as hell by the way and I could almost see the wire in the wire works since there was so much of it! I actually liked the show or parts of it in the way I like Halley Berry's "Cat Woman." It was a laughably bad movie that was a guilty pleasure for me. This show is kind of like that but much less so.
If you want a good Asian Drama I'd suggest watching a Korean one. They seem to do it best. This is just a cheap Chinese knock off
