I have read and loved all of Sarah J. Maas’s books! Her amazing world building abilities never fail to draw me in! She has a way of bringing her characters to life, making me either fall in love with them or despise them. In some cases the admiration I initially feel turns to disappointment then loathing thanks to her unexpected twists and turns. Crescent City has been no different! This world is fantastic, these characters so strong. I was immediately sucked into to story. From the beautiful gates, to the dingy apartment, the love between Bryce and Danika, the attraction between Connor and Bryce, the undying loyalty. I could see and feel it all thanks to Sarah’s talent. This book has it all, strong loyal beyond death friendships, love of family both blood ties and not, steamy romance, sass and attitude, heart wrenching events where you feel your own heart breaking with the character, humor that made me laugh out loud, and suspense that had audible exhales of relief rushing from me. I literally could not put this book down! I read through it so fast the first time, I read it again at a slower pace. It was just as good maybe better the second time around! It is one of those books when I read the last sentence not only did it leave me wanting the next book immediately, it left me feeling sad, I’m not ready to leave this world, these characters behind. Unsurprisingly another brilliant book by Sarah J Maas!! Can’t wait for more!!
