Seth's Star Trek fandom shines through in this one, and I think of all his creations, it is the most thoughtful. The comedy is nowhere near as constant as any of his cartoon creations, but when it is there, it ranges from subtle comments to full blown rediculous exaggeration. When the show decides to tackle real world issues, that is where it truly shines. The comedy is allowed a chance to take a back seat in favor of real gravity. It truly is a Star Trek for our time and the best offering in entertainment Seth MacFarlane has ever given us.
