The rocky universe marches on to creed 3, this time without the stalwart of Rocky Balboa who is absent nor mentioned in the entirety of this movie, so all the weight of movie rests on the shoulders of Addonis Creed played by Michael B. Jordon who also takes on director duties of this movie in what is his directorial debut, which is a massive up taking considering this is the first movie in the series without Sylvester Stallone and must have been a lot of pressure on Michael B. Jordon. the movie it self is a very personal and beautifully shot creed story as his past comes back to haunt him in the form of Damien Anderson played by the ever charismatic Johnathan Majors of lovecraft country fame to name one of a few, the movies themes for me was about letting go of the past and what was and walking into what is as said by Tony "little duke" Evers played by Wood Harris. the focus is very much Michael B. Jordon and Johnathan Majors characters with the other characters not having much to do and are there to drive the story on and not much moore. one of the returning characters is creeds wife Bianca Taylor played by Tessa Thompson, only has a few scenes but is good value for what little she has to do in this movie. all in all this is a very good continuation of the creed franchise and as i was watching it didn't bother me that rocky character wasn't there, I think that characters ark is complete in creed 2 (go watch if you haven't see it) and i think moving forward the focus should be on adonnis creed and expanding the universe, which I believe is there plan from what I read, I do know creed 4 is definitely happening from what Michael B. Jordan is saying so it will be interesting to see were they take this franchise.
