The best series! Although the plot can sound far fetch and ridiculous, the writing is brilliant and stays consistently solid throughout the show. Firstly, this is drama-comedy goodness at its finest. The characters are incredibly complex and one of the gems of this show is the relationship between the two main characters, Eve and Villanelle. You don't know what to quite make of it (enemies? friendship? romantic?) but I think that's the beauty. The plot twists are wonderful and by far one of the best in any show! The plot twists are not cliche and make it a great show to rewatch to find hints the writers gave us. Each season you get to peel back some layer to the characters and the relationship they have with other characters. Villanelle, the assassin, is one of the best-written characters that goes from a cold-blooded killer to a sympathetic character. Even the side characters are endlessly entertaining. While you expect each season to struggle to match the first, it does! The show does an amazing job of giving the audience enough to stay hooked and keep watching. Also, the locations are gorgeous all over the world. The acting is top-notch, Sandra Oh was originally why I decided to watch and she did not fail. But Jodie Comer is mind-blowing! PLEASE GO WATCH THIS SHOW IS BLOODY BRILLANT!!

The Crown is truly addictive goodness. I'll admit I couldn't care less about the British monarchy prior to the Crown but after watching I was delighted by the scandalous nature of the storylines that were based on real events. This show has everything to keep an audience glued to the screen. The cinematography and music are captivating. The Crown is wonderful at showing complex characters and has top-notch acting from Claire Foy to Olivia Colman. I must admit that I wasn't sure that I would care for the new cast but it was easy to get used to the new cast since the casting is spot on. Each season you get to see different layers of the characters. I would note that this is of course fiction but I think the writer is able to capture the mindset of each character/royal so that everyone can relate to one character or another throughout the journey. Each season serves as roughly a 10 year period starting from when Queen Elizabeth II takes reign. As someone who doesn't often like change in series, this show has one of the most seamless transitions from each episode. Some episodes serves as a social commentary that isn't preachy. If you enjoy realistic fiction with scandals and drama this is a show for you. I urge everyone to get through the entire first two episodes before deciding to drop the show as they serve as the setup for the rest of the story and background info for people like myself who go into this without any knowledge about the royals and monarchy.
