I struggled not to give this a one star. But to be fair if I didn't have high hopes, it wouldn't be that much a disappointment. It's amazing how bad you can screw up a sequel... Yet the writers had so much to work with. This is no fault of any of the actors mind you who did incredible with what they had to work with. But the writing was attrocious.
I'm convinced Hollywood has no material left to work with. How long has it been since there has been a decent sequel? Whoever wrote this should get fired, and whoever reviewed the script should also get fired. Then take some time to review the entire production process and maybe you have a chance of correcting the mess that is currently Hollywood. It's that devastatingly bad. Granted it's a little better than matrix 4. But this was only the sequel, the plot was wide open with so many options at hand. Instead what we got is a 2 hour musical that is in its entirety, a court case drama.
