*SPOILER ALERT* My partner and I watched this film together and we both loved it. I'm terrified of spiders but this film made the viewer feel connected to Hanus, he grew on me as the film progressed and towards the end of the film, I loved Hanus. Even though he was a giant spider. I loved how Jakub followed him when he knew he was dying and untethered himself from the ship so could be with Hanus. I cried in the end when Hanus died and my partner did too. We loved how Hanus helped Jakub to reconnect with his wife and helped him to realise that he was still in love with her and that he has always loved her. And that she was in love with him and she missed him terribly. We both thought that maybe Hanus was just a figment of Jakub's imagination. But in the end we both agreed that Hanus was real. I keep thinking about this film, it was thought provoking and such a fantastic film. Highly recommended!!

I really enjoyed this film, it was surprisingly very good! As someone who has been bought up on yachts, I can appreciate how challenging it was to film those scenes. Also, even though I knew this was a horror film, a lot of it could be explained rationally but some of it had a supernatural feel to it. Also, I loved how they never actually showed what was causing the creepy things to happen. I think it made it creepier. As someone who knows a lot about yachts, I could see the main actor (the only actor) definitely knew how to sail. I give it 5 stars.

I must be about the only person who couldn't get into this show. I tried to watch all of season 1 but just couldn't get though it, way too many characters and none of them had any redeeming features at all. I was told to keep watching and that it gets really good but I just couldn't stand it. And I couldn't see it getting good, especially because I couldn't even finish season 1. My partner had the same opinion as me.

One of my absolute all time favourites! I love the characters and the different storylines portrayed in the show. The episodes that always stick in my mind are the ones about little Susan, the girl affected by thalidomide. Especially when we get to see her at around 18 months old in a later episode and she is getting fitted for prosthetic limbs. That episode really hit a nerve with me and all the emotional times her parents went through too. I really loved how the parents were invited to a suppot group for other parents with children also affected by thalidomide. It showed that finally those children were receiving recognition but also, the parents finally had support from others. The episodes about women seeking out an abortion were very confronting but I liked how they didn't sugar coat it either. Also the episodes where young girls had to give up their babies for adoption were very upsetting. However, also not sugar coated. I have watched the entire series from start to finish (or to end of season 9) many times and I still love it every time.

I didn't think much of this movie, seemed like a tween kind of film to me.I know it was based on a true story but it wasn't the best movie. While I have see worse movies, I would still only give it one star. I didn't think the main actor was very convincing and the mother's acting skills were terrible. I understand the message it was trying to convey but I wouldn't recommend it, unless you are a 12 year old girl.
