I was not a fan. I, like most people, watched this because it became available on Disney+, and I watched it unbiased without seeing any reviews first. Oh man, there was sooooo many things wrong with this “Live” version. First of all, Prince Eric doesn’t sing in the movie, so......yeah, that was umm...interesting. Second, as much as I loved Auli’i in Moana, this wasn’t a good fit. She couldn’t hit the notes, and she rushed through EVERY song she sang! Am I literally the only one who noticed this?!? When they were introducing the daughters of Triton, why did they have just one person sing that song? The whole point of the song is to show the audience how beautiful his daughters are and how beautiful their voices were. Two original songs we’re added into the live version, which let’s be honest, weren’t that good. John Stamos as Chef Louis.....all I can do is shake my head here. Queen Latifah was pretty much the best part of the whole thing. She carried the whole show. As much as I agree with everyone about Shaggy and his costume, I will say that his voice was probably as close as they could get to Sebastian, so kudos for that. Ok, rant over. Just overall disappointing.

I LOVED this show! I literally couldn’t get enough! My boyfriend and I were literally on the edge of the couch screaming and trying to encourage the teams! When they won, we cheered, when they cried, we cried. It was EPIC! So sad there was only ONE season!
