A fun game. I enjoy the music although there aren’t any Bachata classics in the radio selections. I enjoy pretty much all the aspects of gameplay even though some are jumping/climbing/swimming usually not my favorite and the killing is repetitive. The acting is much better than 5, the storyline has its share of silliness and never quite really draws you into the revolutionary role but it’s not one I didn’t like and usually I’m picky about storylines. One of my main complaints are the bugs: there are just too many of them. One I remember would turn off my Xbox if I tried to access the map while someone was talking to me on my cellphone. 2nd main complaint is a backwards compliment with some futile wishing added— I really wish there were more classic cars, more music, customizable music playlists, more skins, more decorations etc etc etc. and I also really wish the mechanics of the game gave you a greater sense of a war going on than just occasionally having AI help in a firefight or someone with you on a mission. Now that I have played through the whole game I realize I would really have liked it if bases and checkpoints I took could come under attack and be retaken by the enemy, and they could repair or replace anti-aircraft guns I destroyed. I also found myself wishing there were more tactics like setting ambushes and sabotage. It would have been great if the 50 billion crafting and building ingredients I had and would never be able to use for anything by the end of the game could have been allocated to Libertad to actually help affect the outcome of the war (assuming they added my aforementioned changes to give the resistance some rises and falls I guess).. they could have even gone so far as to have missions where the AI enemy attacked and tried to retake areas and you had to prevent casualties and loss of control points.. And I wished the approaches to so many battles were not so cookie cutter- every checkpoint is essentially the same (one alarm and 3-4 guards), every anti-aircraft gun likewise and mostly undefended… you get the picture. But I mean, the collectibles part of it tells you how much I like the game, enough to want to have reasons to keep playing it. I mean, I never really feel like that about a game and usually the opposite, I won’t even finish because there is too much I dislike about it. But this game has something different, a cool style that doesn’t falter, likeable characters, getting to wage war while listening to Spanish music on the radio, even a good villain who was the star of the best death scene ever on tv (which is not related to the game but Breaking Bad fans won’t have forgotten I’m sure). There’s something I really enjoy about the style and what’s lacking is mostly depth which every game lacks, I’m not actually complaining about it. It could have been -that- game that you never get tired of for me, fell a little short of the mark so I’m disappointed about that but the game as it is doesn’t deserve to be criticized much at all, it has some of the usual rough edges and that’s about it.
