I read the book and watched the film recently and the film doesn't do justice to the book. I can see how the film is enjoyable but it misses out on many things and also adds a lot of unnecessary details. I can see why they would rush over somethings but the ending does not compare to the book. The ending is rushed and feels incomplete. And finally some of the characters weren't adapted well. I recommend reading the book first if you can then watching the film. But that is just my opinion.
