The article by the New York times is very poorly written. Philip (Cranstons) character is far from offensive. People watching shouldnt have to squint to block out color/race. The differences between Dell and Phillip are what make this movie touch the hearts of so many. And to reference Dell's girlfriend as "hostile" is an overstep. Her emotions were based on a past that led Dell to becoming a better person, not only for himself, but for the ones he cared about most. This movie is not only inspiring, it will make you laugh, shed a tear or two, show you a different way of viewing the world and seeing the "Upsides" in your own life. It is a must see!
