I give it 2.0 out of 5. What a disappointment.
Always loved EJ songs, and still do. I grew up with his music and appreciated his musical genius. Having said that..
I thought the whole same sex scenes were over the top. I wish the movie would have focused more on his early professional days of development as an artist.
It felt like his songs were put in play to fit in to musical production pieces and the story lines. I prefer that his songs should have followed the actual historical timeline.
The actors were amazing, and they should have been given the opportunity to act, not auditioning for a Broadway musical. The whole musical scenes were over done. I wish those wasted set times were rather spent on concert scenes or song writing (and the inspiration behind the songs and the melody).
Obviously, I am not a movie critic, but I was embarassed for young kids watching the same sex scenes.
What a waste of a great story telling opportunity for a truly gifted artist of our generation...
I went to see a historical drama on one of my favorite musical artists. I ended up watching Producer Elton John's personal musical production as how he wants to tell it. (2 out of 5).
