An terrible, awful film that contradicts itself in it's themes.
The story centres around Sienna, a young high schooler who ends up texting a hot guy who believes she is the popular girl. This happens because he approaches the mean girl in a diner, and she gives him Sienna's number, which she ripped off from a poster advertising her tutoring services. After all, "losers are for other losers".
When Sienna sees who she is talking to, she is smitten, yet the film patronizingly tells the audience that personality matters...yet Sienna catfishes, manipulates, and sexually assaults the guy.
The only interesting part of the film was watching the popular girl's character development, as she goes from emotionally abused mean girl to a more grounded person who stands up for herself.
Other than that, it's a damn toxic movie that's badly written, poorly developed and depressing to watch.
