I first saw the movie as a highschool student in Newark, NJ. I was somewhat taken aback at the opening few moments. It led you to believe that there was illicit goings on. When you understand that the director was David Lynch, you will understand why. Read the book about the actual story and treat the movie as an "artistic imagination".
