I was re reading the Malory towers series recently when I found out it had a TV series and I thought "Well gee, isn't this just wunnerful" but I watched the first few episodes of it and I have mixed feelings. The setting and characters are great but I don't like how they've changed some of the plot and the characters' personalities. *Spoiler* Alicia in this is not the sharp tongued Alicia in the books whom I loved. She's much more docile and Darrel, sensible Darrel is the one playing tricks. Mam'zelle Dupont isn't there which is truly a shame and Matron is used in her stead. Even though these may not seem like big changes to others it was for me. What I loved about this book series is the way they portrayed the girls, flaws and all. Most of them were so blunt and not afraid to speak their mind, I feel like the characters in the TV series are a more watered down version of them. Despite all that I loved Marie Lou, she's portrayed excellently along with dear Gwendoline Lacey Marie. The Malory towers TV series isn't bad but I wish it stuck to the books more.

Honestly this was one of the most satisfying movies I've ever watched throughout the beginning ,middle and end. If your looking for a movie that will satisfy you both visually and plot wise i don't think this is the movie for you. Its visuals albeit being different from your everyday anime, are absolutely stunning. You could just stare at one scene for hours but its plot is confusing as heck when it comes down to the last 30 minutes of the movie. It's definitely not the type you can fully understand at once, its the type you have to re-watch again to understand the depth and symbolism in it. I can only get the general concept it was trying to give, how all organism are linked to each other and the concept of the birth of the universe, but I'm definitely going to watch it again to see how much more i can perceive from this movie. It's start is slow, so slow (for me at least) that i put it off to watch on another day but it really picks up pace as you go on having the perfect balance between borderline scary and happy. The feelings it gives you, other than bafflement, is complete awe. I usually suck at explaining/describing stuff so in short what I'm trying to say is, if your into slice of life, comedy and stuff like that, probably not your best choice. But if you want something that'll arise your curiosity of the secrets of the universe and love art ,give it a go. What are you waiting for?
