This book changed my life. It was given me by the 4-H Club when I was fourteen years old, two years after the death of my father. It gave me self-esteem and ambition to "make the best better" (motto of 4-H). I memorized it and tried thereafter to put its principles into practice. With little hope of going to college at that time, I ended up finishing college at age nineteen, Duke University Divinity School at age twenty-two, and, after retirement of 46 years as a clergyman, I taught sixteen years in a theological seminary. All this is thanks to "I Dare You" by William Danforth.
