This is written purely in response to Andrew Engelman's review. Andrew writes that the show is pushing a gay 'agenda'. It would be funny if it were not so offensive.
Would you propose the show was pushing a heterosexual 'agenda' had Janet gone home to a husband each episode? I don't think so.
There is no gay 'agenda'. The show portrays a gay relationship – it doesn't push it. In fact, Janet and Ash don't kiss until several episodes in. The show is quite coy in its portrayal of lesbian love. I wish it were more 'gay agendery'. We need more gay relationships on TV.
