If I could give this game zero starts I would. I used to absolutely love fifa and it would be my main game on the Xbox 360 when it was the good old days. And it seems that EA have absolutely lost the plot with it now and can’t seem to get even the smallest of things right in any aspect of the entire game. The gameplay is quite simply tragic, with no control over any of the other players in the game: defending is impossible as the only player capable of tackling is the one you are controlling and the ai can’t seem to track a player running directly at them. It also seem that every player has no work rate as attacking runs are minimal at best. Even by triggering a run players will end up mindlessly running offside and have little direction to their run in the first place. Don’t even get me started on the tackling as even the simplest of tackles by players like Ramos they seem to mess up, just aimlessly sticking a leg out and conceding a foul. And when you’re on the receiving end of a tackle, even the softest tackle can make your player stumble about 50 yards like the old fifa glitches, except this is an animation that literally every player will do at the slightest idea of a tackle on them. It shouldn’t be hard for a game as large as EA to make even a half decent game. Let’s face it, they can’t do much worse than this one. Just find the problem with the gameplay and fix it. It seems the gameplay designers are brain dead and haven’t an inkling of comprehension about how a footballers kind works or the simplest idea of physics. Pace is yet another aspect EA have completely disregarded. All sense and logic has flown out the window when it comes to running. It would be a miracle is players like mertens could outpace lindelof even if he had 4 yards on him. It’s almost like the defenders are being dragged along the field as they seem to effortlessly catch up with the attacker, no matter how fast that attackers is or how far ahead they are. If ea believe that they are doing the fifa community, or even the football community any favours by what seems to be devolving the game, they should simply start selling empty game cases as there is nothing keeping anyone playing this abomination of what was once a fun and enjoyable game to play.
