So i’m a big nostalgic ballet fan and was looking forward to this having seen the visually stunning trailer. 20 mins in I was feeling optimistic. Beautiful scenes, an interesting plot. But then when Clara gets to the four realms - oh awful. It still remained completely visually stunning. But the plot was simplistic, the characters flimsy and unbelievable and the dialogue really really awful. The actors all seemed terrible. All of them...the sugar plum fairy, the other regents, the nutcracker and (facial expressions aside) Clara. Mother ginger’s Character held a spark for a bit but that fell apart under the weight of the crushingly awful dialogue. There’s only so much any of them could do with that script. Ok for a cold Sunday afternoon with a pair of 5 year olds but it won’t become the classic that it should have done. All visual appeal but no depth. Shame on you Disney!
