I am not in America but as a black person this movie was thought provoking. To think that there are so many white people that still actually think this way is the scary part. People comparing it to get out is so stupid in my own opinion these movies are on different levels. Antebellum is trying to tell us that some white people hate black people's success even more so a black woman's. People complaining about the brutality of the movie has me confused because I have not watched all of 12 years a slave but the parts I did watch had nothing on antebellum. Ppl talking about citing racial tensions the white cops that unfairly kill black ppl are not been charged should be the citation for racial tensions. Enjoyed the movie. Give it a try and stop letting stupid ass reviews stop you. I think ppl would have been comfortable with it being just another slave movie but now that it involves human trafficking and a whole lot of blatant racism not only in the first act but also in places like the hotel and shit is what annoys them. Watch it.
