Boring. I’ve always enjoyed these books for the details of art, history, locations as well as his very likable characters. This book had none
of these traits. It was hard to follow; the characters two dimensional. But his use of recent American politics was without merit and totally out of character for his usual themes. It’d be one thing if he remained objective and presented both sides (tho how this topic fits into the story escapes me), but to be so blatantly biased is too much. He does realize that at least half the country disagrees? And I doubt most of the “woke” crowd reads his books. I will not buy another of his books unless future reviews indicate he has returned to his original forte. Till then I will miss Gabriel & company.
