Out by the Water in Cape May

An animation test on a moderately predictable plot and worn tropes. Spoilers; all tropes. The "villain" in this movie turns out to just be someone who told the truth. And there's a moldable prophecy that only the main character can influence. A family drama movie about how even those that get looked over have worth. I liked the premise of a living house and a family full of magic enhanced people that help a community. And then they just did the predictable thing and made a family drama with super powers. Would've preferred a more lighthearted take.

Anyone who thinks this show is bad for any reason is either wrong or doesn't understand the restrictions the show had to follow. The ending was actually improved if you were to watch another project. The setting is in Brazil, for the first 5 episodes it is the EXACT same. But after that, the show is entirely unique. Another thing is that the show "Dead Set" has a unique premise and executes it amazingly. The ending is meant to feel futile. There isn't a happy ending.

Ginger Kid is a light-hearted look about high school in the eyes of Steve Hofstetter. There's one problem with this book... instead of taking out the highly unnecessary details, he tells you every teenie-tiny detail of the years. This includes all of his "girl-friends" and how each one makes him learn something. Yeah, experiences make you learn, you didn't have to say "BECAUSE SHE DID THE BREAK-UP WITH ME, I AM MORE LAID BACK AND HAPPIER AND LIFE IS PEACHY". I'd rather see him not literally refer to how the relationship helped him after it was over. If you're interested in pointless pages of highschool bleugh with a side of comedian... this book is for you.
