There are two things that must be considered in this movie. The first is its artistic merits and the second is its sociopolitical underpinnings. Artistically and technically speaking, WW84 is beautiful. The colors are vibrant, bright, and it really recreated that 80's vibe. The acting is "ok", VFX is superb, and the soundtrack also compliments the actions in every scene. At first glance, it looks like a feminist movie but it is not. It is because the "84" here is a homage to George Orwell's "1984" (i think), and it challenges extremism and "extreme collectivism". It tells individuals to assume the role of the archetypal hero through the recognition of the TRUTH because "no true hero is born from lies". I think this is the reason why this movie has mixed reviews. The far-right thinks that this is a feminist movie and the SJW-type thinks that the movie doesn't get their ideology. In truth, the movie is about harmony symbolized by little Diana's "color" during the opening tournament (Turquoise). Overall, the movie is entertaining, and as the saying goes "you hate what you don't understand". I give this 8 out of 10.
