I love period dramas but this isn’t one. It’s too close to a historical drama to be fantasy genre but so lacking authenticity it doesn’t tick the period drama box either. The acting was poor, the bright sets, costumes and hair were all wrong, the characters were lacking authenticity and someone had obviously decided it would be great to invent a more multicultural regency Britain which was just didn’t exist. Such a shame as money was obviously spent but it looked cheap and was waisted in my opinion, there is a time for putting a new spin on things and creating new worlds but attempting to re write history is never a good idea. It felt like an elaborate pantomime.
