This album holds so much nostalgia to me and so many others. Fearless holds a great importance to Taylor's career, as well as her fans. Although Taylor not being able to own her masters is terrible, there might be a silver-lining here. In these times, we all need familiarity and comfort, and that's what Taylor delivered. Instead of re-recording Fearless to fit into today's modern sound or "popular music", she was able to connect her timeless songs with her new, deeper, mature voice. I was raised on this album, and the lyrics mentioned in Fearless have stuck with me all these years. For example the lyrics from "Fifteen", "In your life you'll do things greater than dating the boy on the football team", and lyrics from "Change", "The walls that they put up to hold us back will fall down." I am so grateful that Taylor's able to share these songs that have impacted us since when we were teenagers to present day adults. The album was written through the perspective from teenage Taylor, and she successfully captured the feelings of breakups, stardom, dreams, romance, anger, frustration, and first loves. However, with Taylor...she made what seem like just "teenage problems", timeless. Which is why so many adults were excited for this album as well, because they've grown up and experienced these themes that Taylor wrote about, and can now relate to many of the songs off of Fearless. I believe "Love Story" was the best songs to dive into the world of "Fearless (Taylor's Version)". Starting off this nostalgic era with the lyrics "We were both young when I first saw you", meant so much for us fans, because well we were young when we first saw Taylor, and vice versa. Overall, I was sobbing when I first heard Fearless re-recorded. Her laugh in "Hey Stephen", the strings in "You're Not Sorry", the piano version of "Forever and Always" just made me feel connected with my younger self. As for the vault songs, "Mr Perfectly Fine", and "Bye Bye Baby" are lyrical masterpieces. The way she was able to keep these songs away from us for 13 years are beyond me. I am so proud of Taylor for retelling her story, and feeding us so well this year. Can't wait for the next of (Taylor's Versions), but for now I have a perfect album to dive into again.
