I can understand maybe some people aren't going to like abby. and when you have to play as her that it might take away the focus on ellie but to me it kinda seemed necessary for the plot and after a while I grew to like abby. And for all the people that say the games story was bad I just don't understand where they are coming from tbj. It just seems like bunch of people are upset about Joel's death. Tbh I was as well but then I was like wow they really played us all huh? Honestly most invested i have been into a game in a long time.
