Outstanding - brilliantly directed and acted, this is not a mere police procedural. It is a tragedy that critiques the nationalist (racist) rhetoric that incites the individual to violence (a very important topic all across the world), and urgently messages a call for peace. Ultimately this film is about compassion, and how individuals are more than their race, their caste, their acts - and what is necessary for a community to ensure humanity by recognizing the value in each and every person. No governmental or bureaucratic entity depicted in the series comes out a hero, but there are many heroic moments depicted by individuals that strive to find connection and meaning, and understanding from one another. Riveting, heartbreaking, and well worth everyone's attention.
