An excellent recount of early Auckland that was, believe it or not, a riveting read. I grew up in the, typical of the time, Euro-centric greater Auckland area and was amazed at how little I actually knew about the REAL Auckland. It would have taken a very dedicated person to put all this generally unknown history together and compiled her copious research into such a readable tomb.
