A beautiful, delicate and careful film. This film challenges your current understanding of life and how you perceive it. I was left pondering this film for many days after I had watched it. A superb insertion of a real poetic beauty.

I cant say I've ever seen a movie depicting the life of a child soldier. It is insane what the human soul will endure in order to survive. I hope that one day man kind will realise we can't keep on killing our brothers. Our sisters. There is more to life than power and money. Simply existing, surviving is extraordinary in itself. Great film. One like this really sticks with you.
A brilliant look into intergerational trauma, systemic and institutional racism in Aotearoa. Great film. I know people want to compare this to the only other NZ gang film (we all know) but it is not, and I'm grateful for that. A brilliant perspective in which Once Were Warriors didn't delve too deeply into.
