This movie musical was outstanding! I recommend all to see! I’m from the age of the original and it was phenomenal! Whoopi and Oprah two powerhouses that meshed together so well. Whoopi! WOW! Stupendous!!! This movie was the icing on the cake! The cake; the emergence of the original movie and the musical Encouraging like the book. It was entertaining and moving. Taraji, extraordinary. She took Shug Avery to another level, she was sensational and silky audacious! Fantasia as Celi should make Whoopi so proud! Her screen debut was awesome and moving she embodied the character Celi; swimmingly, like new birth!!! Coleman Domingo, mister! WOW superb! Dion Cole….Danielle Brooks! AWESOME INTERPRETATION!! !! I could only watch the original movie once. It was riveting, moving, wonderful! This musical was all that AND exquisitely entertaining! I will go to see it again!

This is a great movie and its history well researched. Great Job!

I thought no one would terrain as good as Denzel Washington I was too young when the series was on years ago, but this series is well written and Queen Latifah is doing a great job.
