One harsh but realistic picture.If you base it on today's moral compass,then John Wayne's Ethan is a very bad human.But it wasnt made with today's standard of morality,so do NOT judge it with hate because it doesnt fit your 2000's mindset. It was made during a time when people thought differently,..no matter what you may not like.

One of my top 5 favorite films,and certainly my favorite Western.It has the best bad guy in any film I have seen to date,Liberty Valance,played by the legendary Lee Marvin just tears up the screen in every shot he's in.I was only 8 when it came out and we went to see it in the theater,and I fell madly for Liberty.Strange? I know,right? BUT,..he has stuck with me all through my life. lol. There is only one other Western that is even close to Liberty Valance,and that is the Magnificent Seven,with Yul Brynner. It comes in right behind The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance. I could say all the things great about this film,but there are tons of others who have already said them. All I have to say is,..watch it for yourself to see what all the hooplah is!

One of the best films I have seen to date,and I am very old school. XD It has the best villain in it as well.Captain Vidal. He is compelling and reviling at the same time. Played by Sergi Lopez,he eats up the screen when he is there. Everything about this movie is beyond amazing,and it is one of my top 5 favorite films. Guillermo Del Toro waited many years to get this film made,and the work he put into it shows how much of a passion project it was for him.
