It was….fine? The story wasn’t amazingly captivating, just something entertaining to read. I didn’t hate it, didn’t love it. It felt like at times the author was trying too hard to be as shocking as possible and I get the angle they were going for but it mostly did not have an effect. I just didn’t get a lot out of this book and it had the potential to be great. I’m just glad I got it from the library and didn’t pay for it.

I understand its importance and relevance, but it really isn’t that good. When you learn that it’s actually not a real girl’s diary it takes away from it. The ending is mundane and the epilogue is abrupt. At times it is disturbing, yes, but it is honestly just dry. It’s an easy read though, only took me about a day and a half.
