A lot of people like this show and that's fine. But there's also a notable minority who find it very boring. I'm in that minority even though I enjoy shows that are slow, or don't include much action. This show just lacks an interesting plot and I found the character development to be too bland and one note to be compelling. Frieren's emotional journey is simply uninteresting.

New players will love it cause it's an awesome game. Old player may not like it because of the "sound design"

If the ship this took place on was the Enterprise instead of the Orville and if fans could let go of "the one I saw as a kid is the greatest," then this would be the best Star Trek series. While it doesn't take itself as seriously, it still has all the joys of The Next Generation, but more palatable to a modern viewer. It's a shame Seth McFarland doesn't want to make more of it.
