A painfully inaccurate portrayal of aspergers/autism that is at best obnoxious and at worst offensive. The lack of care taken by Haddon for such a sensitive topic is baffling, and does nothing but perpetuate harmful stereotypes. And that he denied the fact Christopher (the protagonist) has autism to try and avoid criticism after exploiting it for marketing purposes is borderline repulsive, and is made worse by how closely Christopher's behavior mirrors stereotypical depictions of autism.
