Gregory Carpenter

Watched this last night. Only good thing was it was nice to be back at the cinema. The film was awful! I am a big fan of the saw franchise, so was looking forward to watching this despite the bad reviews. The acting is very poor, I hadn't heard of Chris Rock before this film but have heard he only does comedy. He should stick to comedy, his acting in this was pretty bad as was most of the other cast. I thought that if the story was bad, at least the traps would make up for it and be fun to watch. The traps were abysmal. I won't spoil anything but they were so tame, they were over pretty quickly and there was hardly any gore at all. Another trap looked very inventive but we never saw anything happen because the camera focused on the person's face instead of the body part they were trying to mutilate. Now the voice of the killer you hear play through the tapes and the videos is not just bad it is a joke. Tobin Bells voice was always brilliantly sinister, where this new killers voice sounded like a kid reading a script at school it was laughable. I was very disappointed with jigsaw, but at least that film was fun and enjoyable to watch. Spiral was a complete mess.
