Outstanding writing, tho the "bad assness" is overly dramatized by some the peripheral cast. As a "involved" participant (on a lesser level) in that era and area (lived in L.A. area from the 50s thru the 80s), the level of intensity and brutality portrayed is spot on. I am thoroughly captivated by the acting, historical scope/truth and brutal realism of this powerful and thought provoking show. I hope we have a few more seasons of this wonderfully creative ensemble production.
