Andy Olsen – Google

The story , such as it is, is stilted and overly simplistic. There’s a lot of standing around in poses while each character is introduced through a slow motion fight scene. No real reason other than ‘we need to find a general’ for their journey and there’s no explanation for why they’re meeting the other members of their rag tag team other than ‘ I know a guy’ sure you know a guy who is apparently just sitting around and waiting for you to do the thing that shows off their skill. It’s a painful watch with no nuance or world building in the story and the exposition is so blatantly so they’d have been just as well off to have the characters speak directly into the camera and break the fourth wall. I couldn’t watch it in one sitting. I had to watch in 20-25 min increments to allow time for cringing

I liked the character when initially introduced but the pacing in this show was way too slow. The mysticism wasn’t fleshed out and I spent most of the series wondering what they were even doing with it (it wasn’t even needed). If they explained why she came back to her home town I missed it, and her plan to become the ‘queen’ wasn’t so much a plan as a series of conversations standing around wondering what she’s doing. Yeah. Me too.
